Paying Your Bill |
| Bank Draft The most convenient way to pay is by the monthly automatic electronic bank draft. Each month the amount of your utility bill will be transferred electronically from your checking or savings account to GPU by a bank draft. The actual transfer will occur on the due date of your bill. Your bank will itemize the automatic debit on your statement each month. GPU will continue to send you a bill each month marked "Paid By Bank Draft". Come by and see us for more information. By Mail Another convenient method to pay is by mail. GPU includes a return envelope for this purpose with your bill. Please use it. Be sure to enclose the bill stub to ensure that we credit the correct account. Mail only a check or money order, do not send cash. In Person Some customers prefer to come to the office to pay in person. The business office is open Monday through Friday from 7:30 am to 4:30 pm. Night Depository GPU has night depositories for making payments after business hours. If you use a night depository, be sure to use only a check or money order and include your bill stub in the envelope. Credit Cards We now accept VISA and MasterCard credit cards. You may pay with your credit card in the office, over the telephone, or online at www.gallatinutilities.com. Budget Billing For the convenience of our customers, Gallatin Public Utilities is now offering a Budget Billing program. This program allows you to plan your utility bills in advance, and may be especially helpful to our customers on fixed incomes. In order to be eligible for this program you must be active on our system for at least thirteen (13) months at the address where you want the account to be budgeted. The account must also have a zero (0) balance due at the time of application and there shall be no late charges assessed to the account in the previous twelve (12) months. The amount to be budget billed will be based on the previous twelve (12) months of usage. In the event an account is assessed a late charge, the account will be removed from budget billing and all charges will due in full at that time. April and May are sign up months for budget billing. If you would like further information about budget billing, please call our offices. |

Meter Matters |
| Our meter readers read each water and natural gas meter every month; for this reason and for the safety of our customers we require that each meter be located and maintained in a readily accessible location where they can be read, visually inspected, and properly maintained. Unlock any gates that may prohibit access to your meter. If you have a dog, make sure that it is secured or restrained, so Gallatin Public Utilities can efficiently obtain an accurate meter reading. |
