Know What Natural Gas Smells Like?
| Clean natural gas is odorless and invisible, so we add Mercaptan to it to give it it's distinctive "rotten egg" or sulfur-like smell. It is added to our product for your protection, so you can detect escaping gas, even in the smallest quantities, long before there is any danger. Whether or not you use natural gas, you need to be aware of keeping it safe. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||

Natural Gas is not Poisonous . . . |
Safety is Important |
| Natural gas does not contain carbon monoxide, the cause of so-called "Gas Poisoning". However, when burning natural gas or any fuel, carbon monoxide can be produced by a lack of air, improperly working appliances, or poor flue conditions. As a basic precaution be sure that flue connections and venting are always in perfect working order ~ unobstructed and properly fitted. | Safety is the highest priority in the natural gas industry. The industry's excellent safety record is the result of extensive safety programs, overseen by Federal and State officials. An estimated $4 billion is spent annually ensuring that natural gas is delivered safely and efficiently. To most customers, natural gas is an invisible fuel. The pipelines that transport our product are underground and out of sight. You enjoy all the comforts of clean natural gas without ever knowing that we are there. |
